With this house we were able to create a seamless indoor-outdoor Venice Beach living experience despite the small lot size and code constraints.
To achieve that, we first created an open main floor with high ceilings in the living area, and vaulted ceilings upstairs for extra volume and space for a cool loft area. We strategically placed skylights throughout the house to illuminating darker spaces, and used frosted glass to block out neighbors, creating a private and open living environment.
The conservatory was designed with pocket sliding doors on the interior and exterior, allowing the space to be interior or exterior depending on your mood. A double-sided fireplace flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows accentuates this.
