Jacon, Pacific Palisades

Invite the light

This house had great bones, but the low eaves created a dark environment that directed your eyes downward instead of up to the wonderful sloped landscape outside. By adding a large family and dining room and inverting the slope of the roofline, we were able to invite in the light and the exterior and transform the vibe of the house.

We gave the wood beams and vaulted ceilings the attention they deserved with the use of contrasting white paint with black stain, and infused light in any remaining dark areas with the strategic use of skylights and light tunnels.

Check out the before and after pictures to see the transformation.
