We invited the outdoors into this house that was formerly oriented to the street and neglected the lovely private backyard. By designing a large opening from the living space, we established a seamless flow from the interior to the exterior. And by cantilevering the second story over the exterior space, we created a covered living-dining room for yearround indoor-outdoor living.
The use of earthy materials like wood and metal combined with contemporary lines allowed us to create a modern take on beach community living.
