Zoning codes allowed us to build big and tall, but the constraints of a tiny lot made the design hugely challenging. After a particularly creative design process, we were able to build two large town-house style homes with outdoor spaces to make up for the lack of yard.
With the use of high ceilings and strategically placed skylights and frosted glass, both units are bright, private and ultra functional with utilities and entry on the ground floor, open concept living room with patio on the second floor and bedrooms on the third.
As an urban alternative to a yard (some might even say upgrade), we created a huge roof top deck complete with lounge area and fire pit, dining table and green space, topped off with string lights for a year-round vacation ambiance.
