This very traditional bungalow came with the typical gable roof facade, covered entry area, wood siding and low ceilings inside. We decided to run with it create a modern take on “boring”. We simplified the facade, added some unexpected window designs, used modern cladding materials, and enclosed the front yard with a contemporary concrete planter.
Inside we took out the low ceilings and added some skylights to create a soaring 14’, bright open concept living area, and threw in some brick as a wink to “traditional”.
